Noah's Ark Scale Model
RETURN TO HOME PAGE

Well, I'm not actually building an Ark.  I'm building a scale model of Noah's Ark.  As you can see I have a long way to go yet.  This is the result of working on it after work for about a week.  It's about 69" long, about a foot wide and about 7 inches tall.  It's build on a 1/87th scale...the same scale as the HO train sets.  It is totally scratch build and I have been milling the wood myself from a pine board.

All the pieces to build this so far have been milled from 3/4" pine down to 3/8", 1/4" and 3"16" square logs.  To this point I have about 30 hours into the model.
This is entirely scratch built using ideas I've gleaned from books and the internet.  This type of construction is called "plank on bulkhead" construction.  All four of these pictures represent the 30 hour mark in construction.
